Epic Clip Contest Entry

We’re running an Epic Clip Contest to get more videos of real lessons out into the world and get you in the habit of recording videos of your teaching. One lucky teacher who submits a teaching clip will win $1,000 on November 7th!

STEP 1: GET PERMISSION
Before you do any recording, get permission in writing from the parent/guardian (or student if over 18).

STEP 2: RECORD
You can set up your phone (or any device, really!) using a tripod, selfie stick or propped up with random objects. Do your best to choose a spot where we can clearly see what’s going on in the lesson. Landscape (horizontal) is best since we will post these videos on YouTube but if you can only record portrait (vertical) you can still submit it.

STEP 3: WATCH AND LEARN
Take some time to watch the lesson back later that day or the next morning. Use it as an opportunity to learn and improve your teaching.

STEP 4: CLEAR
Regularly back up your videos and then delete them from your device to save space. Video files can fill up storage pretty quickly!

STEP 5: EDIT
Choose a short clip from your lesson that you want to submit to the Epic Clip Contest. It must be between 5 and 10 minutes.
Please don’t aim for “PERFECT” teaching! Just choose a clip that shows something other teachers might find interesting.

STEP 6: SUBMIT
Complete the form at vibrantmusicteaching.com/EPIC before October 31st.
Please follow the directions carefully so that your submission is eligible for the prize.

STEP 7: REPEAT
Each teacher can submit up to 5 clips so you’ll increase your chances of winning if you keep going!
More importantly, you’ll learn SO much about your teaching if you keep recording and watching yourself.

SHARING
On November 6th we’ll post all the teaching clips on our YouTube channel @MusicLessonClips
This is going to provide a wealth of inspiration for teachers everywhere!

WINNERS
On November 7th we’ll announce the winners! Names will be randomly drawn from ALL eligible entries.
The top prize is $1,000 USD (or equivalent in your currency) and 2 runners-up will win a consultation call with me.

Time to get recording! Set up your phone or other device and take videos of your lessons. Watch them back and select a 5-10 minute clip that shows something interesting. Come back to this page when you’ve got your clip and you’re ready to enter. 🙂

Contest closes October 31st. Each teacher can enter a maximum of 5 clips.

Clips will be posted on November 6th and the winner revealed on November 7th.

If you don’t have your own permission form for video release, you can download ours here and have parents sign it. Any form submitted without an appropriate video release will not be eligible for a prize.
